My son is a stomach sleeper not by my doing. My mother was around alot when he was first born and she always put him on his stomachi asked her not to she did it anyway he is o.k. he is 7 months old now. He is a true stomach sleeper now. I just check on him and make sure he is breathing and so far he has been fine. Since he slept on his stomach he naturally learned things quicker that had to do with tummy time. So in a way it was kind of good

I had the same problem with my son! Finally, when he was two weeks old I got brave and let him sleep on his tummy at night. Of course, I didn't get any sleep! But he was fine! Now, at 3 months old...I don't even TRY to lay him on his back! Straight to the tummy!!!

Our parents were told to put us on our tummies and we lived!! I think it's fine especially if you check in every once in a while or have a video baby monitor (that's what I use)!

Good luck! Do what's best for you and your baby!!!

well no and yes when i comes to an 18 day old baby you half to do what is best for her. that mean. if she at risk by sleeping on her tummy then you half to train her to sleep the way she wont be at risk. that means on her side or on her back. you gotta rember she is only 18 days old. not 15 years. now every once in a blue moon it okay. but you put her best for her, intrest befor her needs. okay.

my daughter always sleeps on her side. I never given in to put her on her tummy. However, she always rolls over on her back or her tummy anyways, so I guess baby will sleep how they want too. You can't really stop it.

It is true that tummy sleeping is not recommended until they can roll over unassisted. . .for that reason I would recommend putting her to sleep on her side with blankets or the "wedge" to support her. I would let my son sleep on his belly at that age for naps downstairs with me so I could supervise him, but never until I would wake up in the morning and would see him on his belly.

putting them on their tummys to sleep is dangerous and should be avioded. theres products on the market that make the baby feel secure and makes them feel like their being held and are safde to use from birth i use one of these and my little one sleeps no problems. they have cushions that fit at the side of the baby, they can be bought from most baby shops for around £15.

dont let her sleep on her tummy. she can suffocate herself. my son was the same way. what i did was let him fall asleep while laying on his tummy on me so i could watch him very closely. then when he was asleep i laid him down on his back and put two rolled up blankets and tucked them under his sides so he felt secure. this worked very well for me. ur baby should not sleep on her tummy until she can turn over on her own

Both of my children slept on their tummy's from birth..... The whole sids thing kills me. It's Just another way for people to govern your home.. You as a parent knows whats best for your child.. You have instincts... They should really take another look at sides and find out if those parents were pill poppers and wine drinkers lol but really... how many of these babies slept in another room with the door closed. How many co-slept with the baby after taking anxiety of depression meds'.. Take a note from me my whole entire family was put to sleep on their tummy's in all of our recorded history since 1759.. not one of us perished from it...

Hi,

I think the most important thing to start with is to get your baby into a good sleep routine. I had massive problems with getting my 4 month old son to sleep. He would just lie awake and cry for hours, then when he finally went to sleep he would wake every hour or two hours through the night and cry again! Talk about pulling our hair out .... we were absolutely desperate for sleep!

It was a baby sleep audio program recommended by a friend that finally saved us. We followed the advice and began by creating a baby sleep routine which included bathtime, dimming of the lights, putting James into his crib, final nappy change and then lullabies. We also made recommended changes to his naps during the day and used some of the other recommended techniques. Within two weeks he was sleeping through the night most nights with just the odd night where he would just wake once!

Definitely start by creating a good baby sleep routine though and you could find that solves most of your baby sleep problems.

Good luck!

try Infacol before each and every feed - toddler might desire to be putting directly to that final little bit of wind and Infacol or Dentinox Colic Drops are incredible for assisting to ease the wind problem. have you ever tried swaddling her at night? toddlers can each and every each and every now and then sense abit crushed with all the gap around them and swaddling supplies them that little bit of protection and convenience that being interior the womb brings. My 3 week previous grandson each and every each and every now and then takes a protracted time to settle so I confirmed my daughter the thank you to swaddle him in a cot sheet or blanket and he settles incredibly properly.
