My cat keeps jumping up on my kitchen table, I've tried yelling at her and throwing things at her like empty coke cans but she never learns, should I start throwing bigger things?

Use duct tape face up on the table. Or pepper spray her once and it will never happen again.

We trained our cats to listen to us by spraying her and making a 'hiss' noise while we do it. That way, when the spray bottle isn't handy, the hiss noise works well since they think the water is coming. However, they are up on the table every time we are not around. They make double-sided sticky tape that cats hate that may not have as many consequences as packing tape. They also make something called a 'scat mat' which you can put on a table and will buzz when it senses motion but those can be kind of pricey.

There are also motion sensor fog-horn type deterents. Of course any clever cat may figure out how to knock those annoying things off 'their' favorite nap spot. A cheap alternative would be to buy a cheap chair mat for computers and put it upside-down on the table.

Cats learn quickly to ignore things that are not a genuine threat to them. They require the personal touch when they start this behaviour and that means grabbing them off the counter and sliding their butts across the floor. They hate that even though it does not hurt them.

Another techniques is to swipe them off the counter with your forearm. Cats hate not being in control and both these methods remove control of their bodies.

I have an even better method. We have a 65 Black Lab that the cats have claimed as their surrogate mother. All I have to do when a cat starts to show interest in the counter is tell the dog to 'get the cat'. They lose all interest in the counter when they see the dog charging at them. The dog doesn't even wait for the command anymore. If either cat goes to the kitchen the dog trots right along behind to make sure they behave themselves.

Lay packing tape, sticky side up, on the table. Be prepared - the cat may get the tape stuck to her. Cats hate the feel of take and hopefully she'll learn to avoid the table.

Some cats will still jump on your table/counters no matter how many time you scold them - they just learn to do it when you're not looking. That's the independent nature of the cat.

OMG my cat LOVES tape. We can't use packing tape without giving her a loop to bite and play with. Anytime someone's peeling off something sticky, she comes running...she's strange.

But this is how we trained ours, similar to the results of others.

Use a vocal sound that is consistent. Use the same command every time. Whether that be "NO!", or we use "HEY!". We started with a water spritzer as well. Use the voice command, and if that doesn't work, use the water. After a bit, they will start to associate the two, and you can just use the vocal command.

First off, don't throw things at her, that's considered animal abuse and will only aggravate your cat, not encourage her to stop.

Keep a squirt bottle full of water on the table, and squirt her every time she jumps up. If that doesn't work, use something very loud like a foghorn, but not directly at her so she doesn't sustain any damage to her ears.

DON'T THROW THINGS AT YOUR CAT!!!

GOODNESS! She's just curious and wants to explore places she hasn't been before, ever heard the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'

No physical abuse.Just a sharp clap of the hands and the word no

should stop this.

After reading the other answers I can only suggest one thing. Feed your cat his dinner at the same time you are eating yours. Our male tabby would get up on the table especially when I put glasses of milk on there. We finally started feeding him when we were eating and it stopped the behavior.
